You do not have to completely rough it while on your trip. Bring along some snacks that you will enjoy, coffee and cream for your coffee, as well as some books to read or games to play. You will find the trip a lot more enjoyable if you do these things.

Oranges can be a nutritious snack for the trip, as well as an organic mosquito repellant. Rub the peels of the orange on your skin and it will repel the mosquitoes for you.

Pack plenty of food. It is important to make sure you have food that will not spoil during the trip, or that you can store it in an ice chest to keep it cold. You do not want your trip to end early because of food poisoning, so take proper precautions with your food.

Make sure you have flashlights and batteries for the trip. Bring along extra batteries. It is also helpful to have a lantern for the trip. These light a lot more area and can help make it safer around the camp site. You may want to pack a utility knife with you also. They have a lot of helpful tools for your trip.
